SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE
DRESS CODE POLICY

At School of the Future (SOF), we believe that appropriate dress supports a positive learning environment by minimizing distractions and promoting professionalism. While we do not require school uniforms, we do enforce a clear dress code to ensure all learners are dressed respectfully and appropriately for a school setting.

General Expectations
Learners are expected to arrive at school neat, clean, and well-groomed every day school is in session.

Note: The building is equipped with central air and heating; however, temperatures may fluctuate throughout the day. Learners are encouraged to dress in layers to stay comfortable.

✅ Acceptable Attire
Tops:

Casual shirts and blouses (must not expose the midriff or undergarments)
SOF-branded T-shirts, sweatshirts, or polos for regular wear
SOF-designed shirts or sweatshirts are required for all school-related events, both on and off campus
Bottoms:

Jeans (any color), khakis, slacks, capris, or sweatpants
Skirts (must reach the knee or longer)
Pants with cargo pockets
All bottoms must be worn at the waist; belts must be used if necessary
Firebird Spirit Gear:
All learners are required to purchase at least two pieces of SOF-issued “Firebird Gear” to wear during events and field trips.

Available during lunch at the SOF School Store or through the online portal (link will be updated in September)
Prices:

Event Shirts (Sizes S–L): $16.00
Event Shirts (XL+): $17.00
T-shirts: $11.00
Sweatshirts: $32.00 (additional charges for larger sizes)

🚫 Prohibited Items & Attire
The following are not permitted under any circumstances:

Clothing:

Shorts of any kind (biker, yoga, compression, or 2-in-1 shorts)
Tank tops, sleeveless shirts, or spaghetti straps
Clothing with profanity, offensive language, or inappropriate graphics
Hoods worn inside the building (including on SOF hoodies)
Footwear:

Open-toed shoes, including sandals, flip-flops, or slides
Headwear (Except Religious):

Bonnets
Durags
Scarves/bandanas
Hats
Sweatbands
Curlers
Combs or hair picks
All headwear must be removed upon entering the building unless it is a religious covering (e.g., hijab).
No exceptions. No excuses.

👣 Footwear Policy
To ensure safety and uphold a professional environment:

Only closed-toe footwear is permitted
Open-toed shoes of any kind are strictly prohibited
